Don’t worry! You can do this! Here’s how:
The first thing you need to decide is how you want to mount your cafe curtains – inside or outside. If you want to inside mount your curtains with our hardware, check to make sure that you have at least 1″ of space inside the window trim to mount the inside brackets into the casing.
For an inside cafe curtain, get out your metal tape measure and measure the width of the window from inside the trim to inside the trim and make sure to measure to the nearest 1/8″. Then carefully measure where you want the top of the pole to sit in your frame down to the sill. Sometimes halfway works great but if you have mullions on your window you may want to align the top of the pole with one of those.
For outside mount cafes, get out your metal tape measure and measure the width of the window from outside of the trim to outside of the trim, and then add 4″ out each side to allow space for the bracket and enough pole for one ring to go on the outside. Then carefully measure the length you would like from the top of where you want the pole to sit to the bottom of where you want your curtain to finish. Ta daaa!
If all of this is making your head spin, then feel free to email us the dimensions on the cafe curtain measurement form below, along with a photo of your window, and let us figure it out for you!
